Parashah Lite Edition (Focuses on one verse or idea anywhere in the readings below)

The Bagel: Singular curse.

"I will bless those who bless you And curse him that curses you; And all the families of the earth Shall bless themselves by you" (Genesis 12:3 Tanakh JPS).

Did you ever notice in this text how the curse is individual - in the singular? The blessing is multiple, but the curse is specific. Blessing has many spin offs. It flows far, deep and wide. But the curse is a specially cut trough to direct the flow of damnation to one place. G-d's mercy is always greater, than His judgement. We can rejoice in this great truth. Otherwise no one could be saved.

Yeshua came as the ultimate demonstration of that fact. His work of atonement on the cross forms the basis for justification and mercy. Thus G-d can forgive and accept anyone willing to come on His terms - by faith in Yeshua. This once-for-all salvation expands the Abrahamic blessing to include the whole world. Judgement and hell remain in the singular. What will you do with Yeshua?

Cream Cheese: Many saved by One, one damned by one.
