Will a Jew Rule the World?
If this question were asked of the people of this planet, the most likely answer would be: "Why ask such a foolish question?" After all, the Jew comprises only one percent of the world's population. Israel is considered a non-entity by most of the world's inhabitants. So, if one should take a vote amongst the nations of the world as to their support of Israel, the overwhelming majority would be as such: "Let's get rid of the Jew!"
As we study the contemporary history of the Jews, we conclude that not much has changed since the days of Pharoah. His goal was the extermination of the Jew, long before there was a nation of Israel. So, which question will it be: "Get rid of the Jew?" or "Will a Jew rule the world?"
The choice is driven by one of two underlying philosophies:
- The philosophy of the world = worldly wisdom
- The Word of God = Holy Scriptures
In local and world news, we can gather that Israel is basically a "thorn in the side" of most of the world's nations. The Jews, therefore, are not generally supported by the nations of the world. The Arab countries are portrayed as victims of Israeli aggression. The Jews are depicted as having stolen land from the Arabs. But do the facts of history support this conclusion? The answer is decidedly "No!" History concludes that the Jews were living in the land of Israel long before the Arabs set foot in the land.
The Palestinians are a mixture of Turks and many other local tribes, and peoples from other countries, who have come and gone through Israel down through the centuries. Therefore, there is no concrete proof that the land belongs to them.
When we examine the "Holy Scriptures," we find that the evidence is proof positive, that the land of Israel was given to the Jew. The descendants of Abraham, through Isaac, were promised the land, not Ishmael. In Genesis chapter fifteen, we can conclude that the land belongs to Israel, because God promised and prophesied to Abraham the events surrounding the exodus out of Egypt. This meant that the nation of Israel was born by the hand of God after the miraculous deliverance from Egypt. The people of Israel entered and conquered the land of Canaan, which became the Promised Land of Israel.
The Jew never lost his identity, which is unlike other nationalities. Where are the Romans or the Babylonians, or the Sumerians? Jews kept their heritage and fulfilled a great prophecy given by Balaam in Numbers 23: "I see them from the cliff tops; I watch them from the hills. I see a people who live by themselves, set apart from other nations. Who can count Jacob's descendants, as numerous as dust? Who can count even a fourth of Israel's people? Let me die like the righteous; let my life end like theirs" (Numbers 23:9, 10).
This means the Jews would not be completely assimilated into the nations of the world, but would dwell alone among the nations.
In the book of Isaiah, the Messiah (being a Jew) will come from the tribe of Judah and will rule over all the earth. In chapter nine, we see a few names are given to this great person, but who is not a mere human. It describes Him thus: "For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. And the government will rest on his shoulders. These will be his royal titles: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace" (Isaiah 9:6 NLT). "For a child is born to us," speaks of the Messiah's humanity. This took place in the incarnation of Christ mentioned in Luke 1-3. "A son is given to us," shows the eternality of the Son, who has no beginning or end. This is deity. "Prince of Peace," refers to the great power that this person possesses and that he has the power and authority to bring peace and harmony to this planet. "Wonderful Counselor," means that he has awesome wisdom that is superior to human intelligence. The last name given is "Everlasting Father," which shows the eternal nature of the Son - without beginning or ending. These titles were spoken by the Prophet Isaiah and can only refer to Jesus the Messiah!
The world is impatiently waiting for such a person who can rid this wicked world of wars, and heartaches. Unfortunately, this world is prepared to follow another. Satan and his minions are deceiving the world into rejection of the true Messiah, and to own allegiance to a false Messiah. Thus, Jesus is rejected and people find a Messiah of their own making. In the end days Satan will offer a very plausible false Messiah. But Jesus will return a second time to take up the rightful throne of David in Jerusalem. This will commence the prophecy of Isaiah and of Micah: "Many nations will come and say, "Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the Temple of the God of Israel. There he will teach us his ways, so that we may obey him." For in those days the LORD's teaching and his word will go out from Jerusalem. The LORD will settle international disputes. All the nations will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. All wars will stop, and military training will come to an end. Everyone will live quietly in their own homes in peace and prosperity, for there will be nothing to fear. The LORD Almighty has promised this! (Micah 4:2-4 NLT) So the question remains: "Will a Jew rule the world?" The answer is an overwhelming "Yes!" All the prophecies in God's Holy Word point to that glorious day. I leave you with these profound words: "Whoever calls upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved" (Romans 10:13).
Yours in Messiah Jesus
