The Bagel: All so uncertain.
"The LORD said, I will surely return to you about this time next year, and Sarah your wife shall have a son" (Genesis 18:10).
When Abraham and Sarah were so old and incapable of having children, to be told that Sarah will have a child, seemed to them as a dream. But G-d said it and that was enough. Yet, it seemed all so uncertain. This was especially the case when Adonay asked Abraham to offer up Isaac. How could this young man survive being an Olah (whole-burnt offering)? This too seemed all so uncertain. Yet, with faith a double miracle occurred. The child was born and the young man lived.
Today, with the world in turmoil and Israel threatened on every side by increased terrorist danger, it seems all so uncertain. Will Israel survive in the long run? A retired CIA agent was of the opinion that little Israel cannot last. History will tell. But Scripture is emphatic: Am Yisrael Chai - "the people of Israel live" precisely because theirs is a glorious future. It will be the outworking of a double miracle: Israel's Firstborn son, Yeshua, rose from the dead and so Israel too will rise from the dead.
Cream Cheese: "Impossible" - that's Yeshua's specialty!
